Welcome to Evan Ehat Photography (E2 Photography)
I've loved photography for as long as I can remember. Here is a collection of my landscape photography that I would love for you to have on your walls of your home or office. Take a look around.

Captured a couple birds catching a morning snack. The first bird is a kestrel and this bird was sitting on a fence post when I spotted him and notice him actively scouting the field in front of him. I jumped out just as he started to fly and kestrel’s are so amazing to watch they can hover in place. It’s so cool if you can see them hunting they’ll float and their head is so still and totally looks like it’s on a swivel. Just like a gimbal. Their head will stay perfectly still while they’re just hover, especially if they’ve locked onto a mouse like this one did.
The second bird is a red tail hawk and this bird was flying overhead on its way back to the nest where it’s been nesting on its eggs for last few weeks. I took the photo(s) and when I reviewed them I noticed it had something in its talons. Breakfast.
Shooting star
Went out on a trip to the southwest of Utah to a place I’ve never been before and it did not disappoint. I loved getting out, hiking in remote places, very little reception and just the peaceful sounds of nature and a very big sky chuck full of stars. As I was walking around by moonlight snapping photos I’d seen a couple of shooting star once or twice but hadn’t snapped a picture at the time. This time I did and it was right over the mountain top. Sometimes you get lucky.

I’ve been watching this nest for the last month and at first I thought it was just a couple of bald eagles building the nest. But as I watched them there was in fact three. From what I can tell it looks to be two male and one female. About a week ago they started incubating their clutch. Not sure if there is one or more eggs, I wish I could put up a trail camera in the tree to see how many eggs there are in the nest. But I’ve observed all three of them taking turns laying on the egg(s).
Watch about half way through, I think the female, actually kicks one of the male eagles and then he jumps out of the nest. From the research I’ve seen it’s very rare for there to be three eagles nesting together but though rare it’s been documented a few times.
I’ll keep posting updates as I go and photograph them and shoot video of them.
The land of plenty…plenty to photograph.
Enjoy in the spoils of such amazingly diverse landscapes. All of these locations are within an hours drive of each other and in most spots are way less than that. And the amount of different geological features and beauty all so close to each other I could spend days on end taking photographs in these locations. These photos were all taken in less than 24 hours. I really want to spend more time chasing the light.
Went out to the Utah Badlands with my brother @taylorehat to try and capture some sunsets and the sunrise down in the area. This is the best light we were able to catch while there on the quick weekend trip.
When we woke up early in the morning the horizon was already glowing and continued to grow in color for almost an hour until it broke the horizon line. When the sun just peaked between the land and clouds it hit factory butte with this beautiful pink light for about 4 minutes and I quickly grabbed my second camera and 70-200mm lens and snagged this first shot in this series.

How many?
I’m fascinated with bald eagles when they blink. Just check out their translucent eyelid called a nictitating membrane. This membrane slides horizontally across the eye, typically from front to back, to clean, moisten, and protect the cornea while still allowing the bird to see during the blink. I’ve caught them on video and photos and it’s so amazing to see closeup like this video.

Finally found a bald eagle to photograph thanks to some insider information. While hoping for it to come back after flying off, I found a few other birds to photograph. I’m still planning to go photograph more eagles. What bird should I photograph next?
I’m thinking owls. Any other suggestions or tips?
Aurora over the Bonneville Salt Flats. Going back through my photos I came across this photo and loved the way the lights from a car in the distance lit up the salt bed and the aurora was popping. I loved it so much I added it to my calendar as a bonus photo for the month of January 2027. Order my calendar now. Shipping out around December 1st with plenty of time to give out as gifts.

Utah lake aurora
Beautiful aurora flares over Utah lake last night (11/11/25). I knew I would be fighting light pollution from the cities but was hoping to capture something and Mother Nature didn’t disappoint at all.

My attempt to capture the Lemmon C/2025 A6 Comet down at Factory Butte last week 🌌. The forecast showed clear skies when I checked the night before, but as I started driving the 3½ hours down, it shifted to mostly cloudy with a chance of it clearing in the evening — even as the sun was setting the clouds were beautiful but I was hoping for clear skies. I kept my fingers crossed the whole time as it was getting dark.
By the time it was showtime for the comet the skies were opening up. I’d scouted a spot where it might pass right over Factory Butte — but my phone kept glitching, showing a different path every time I checked, but seeing it streak perfectly above the butte made the whole trip worth it. As the comet set behind factory butte, clouds and distant thunderstorms started lighting up the southwest sky — soon the clouds filled the night sky and started to rain.
Foreground photo: 240 seconds f/2.8 ISO 800
Sky photo: 25 seconds f/2.8 ISO 2500
Second photo: 200mm 4 seconds f/2.8 ISO 6400
Chased the Lemmon Comet ☄️ all the way to Factory Butte.
Clouds tried to ruin it, but the skies cleared just long enough — that the comet passed perfectly over Factory Butte. 🌌
Utah is rad!

Look closely and tell me what you see. Autumn is still in full golden glory in certain parts of Utah. Now that the higher elevation leaves have fallen the third phase of Utah’s fall colors are popping down in central Utah and the desert.

From sunset to night skies we made our way through the Tetons national park from just outside the park to Jenny lake. As we drove through the park we found bull elk bugling. It was amazing to try and find these magnificent animals throughout the park with the help of @rc2max night vision…

Sunset in the Tetons hits different in the fall. All I want to do is go back. What’s a place you want to go see in person?
Went on a flying trip to Tetons with @rc2max to catch the mountains, moose, elk, and amazing fall colors in one of the prettiest places.

https://youtu.be/qeMxkE3Asy0 YouTube about our ride this last spring down in Bluff Utah.
In April of 2025 my buddies and I went down to Bluff Utah to ride around Valley of the Gods and the surrounding area. We rode around 200 miles of off road and unbeknownst to me it was actually quite a bit of the Section 1 of the Utah BDR, which is why we rode in April, not knowing it would be so cold. We hit all sorts of weather while riding.
Drove up the coast of Oregon and visited a couple of places I’ve always wanted to go see. We found this amazing Airbnb place in a little town out side of Tillamook and it was along this bay with a view of 3 sea stacks. I wanted to go out and photograph something in the morning. This is what I found on my outing
Out in the garden of hoodoo’s and arches.

Ran up to a spot along Deer Creek that has some wild flowers blooming with a perfect view of Mount Timpanogos. I got there just in time for the sunset. Love this time of year to see the transition from winter to spring as the mountains come to life with green and flowers popping up along the hillsides. Taken 5/13/2025

I don’t know if it’s my own insecurity or my inability to make a choice sometimes, but I love all three of these photos and it’s been a while since I’ve done black and white photos.
I’d love your help…yes you!! Which photo catches your eye the most?
Select which one then tell me why in the comments.
The first and second photo was taken with a 1/40th of a second shutter speed and the last photo I took a 15 second longer exposure.
:: Lone Tree Star Trails ::
Passed through Zions National Park for a little moonlight and starry night photo sesh on my way back home from a work trip. Ended up going to a spot I’ve photographed around before and wanted to try a different star trails technique. I took 590-13’ second photos at 200mm zoomed in to this rock formation and lone tree. Stacked together using StarStaX software to create the star trails.
Stars. Cliffs. Camping. Motorcycles. Good friends. Cold nights. Desert riding. Beautiful Country. Southern Utah.
Went on a trip to an area of Utah I’ve not road my motorcycle before and it did not disappoint. Parts of the Utah BDR go through some of the trails we went on. We got to see and hike to some cool ruins and petroglyphs.
This photo was taken on our last night there when the clouds finally cleared up.
